Default Meets Attendance Across all Forums

I've noticed meet attendance drop significantly across MANY automotive forums compared to years prior. Do you guys think it's a result of rising gas prices? No one seems to bring it up, but do you think it's on their minds before responding positively to a meet?

I know the rest of the consumer market has been hard hit.

I work at a dealership and we had our all time low month this month. Gas has alot to do with it, but so does current credit issues, common bills becoming too much, hard to find work to make the money to buy things, etc. It's a chain.

We like to use the price of gas but personally, 20 dollars or whatever to go hand out with some buds isn't alot to me; some it may be. Instead of making this a rant about economy, I believe personally it has something to do with it.

I have to work the extra hours to make what I used to (and I don't get paid hourly) so it's hard times now. But LONG LIVE CAR MEETS.

Gas prices are certainly a factor. 10 gallons of "liquid gold" premium will cost you close to $50. It's not only the gas but, food (beer), entry fees, etc. By the time you're done with tax, title and destination charges, it's just about a $100 bill to attend an event!

I've noticed the same thing within the last year or so. Gas prices don't bother me too much b/c I know there is nothing I can do about it. Yeah it sucks that I have to spend so much, but no use complaining about it. I haven't yet changed my lifestyle b/c of gas prices... granted I can't save as much money, but whatever gotta have some fun in my life right??

I have a feeling this country and economy is going to get a lot worse before it gets better...

Not sure about toshiba or karc, but my parents are in town, so I'll need to babysit them.

Yeah things aren't great, but maybe we can take comfort that we're all in it together. Granted some people have a lot more money than others, but proportionally anyone invested in stocks has taken the same hit (again, proportionally).

Now if Nostradamus was right and the world really does end in 2012 while the 'dark man' is in office and the other 'dark men' in the middle east run wild with nukes and burn the globe, then I'll feel awfully stupid that I missed out on something I wanted to do in 2008 because it was going to cost an extra $50.

But in 2013 I'm kicking my savings in high gear : )
