XBronx scares me - I took it to Enlighstown about a year ago and now I just take 287 and go down the GSP. I felt like I was dodging holes and the where the tires would go in the lane, was sunk in a bit. Perhaps theyve redone some of it since then, but I dont know. Not sure how low the OP is.

That is the worst highway known to man kind. Avoid it. Cross Bronx / I95 through NYC FTL. GW bridge with it.

Cross Bronx is Pretty Bad, i drive it and the FDR pretty often, but i still have to say that the FDR (downtown, uptown isn't really that bad) has to be the worst......

Also, if you're gonna catch 87 North, might as well take the palisades up and switch to 87 by Monroe, bypassing the city altogether..I didn't bother reading the entire initial post but i hope this is the route you're taking..

Well on Thursday night I made the executive decision to take the Civic instead of the Z. The Z would have been a blast on the way up, but the entrance to the hotel we stayed at in Burlington had was ridiculously steep and abrupt, and the Z would have certainly bottomed out. Then driving home from Boston on the mass pike (or maybe it was I-84, can't remember) the road was all grooved with bumps and pot holes and junk everywhere, and loose gravel flying around, so I was pretty happy with my choice.

On another note, wtf is up with new england weather? Is it always that cloudy? I think I would get pretty depressed if there was constantly grey clouds and threat of rain in the distance. It was still a good time, but damn that weather is weird.
