So I'm taking my gf to NYC for labor day weekend and of course we have to see a broadway show. Currently she wants to see Wicked, so I'm looking for tickets and prices range from $120 - $350 for all different seats. So here are my questions:
1) Besides Wicked, any other good shows? She's already seen phantom.
2) With all the seating areas (mezzanine, orchestra, RH and LH) what's normally good? And when they say "small side of stage partially not viewable" is that ok? And if you do sit in the rear mezzanine, can you not see anything? Basically is it worth the $$ to sit in the front
3) What's the cheapest way to get tickets? I know of TKTS where you can buy tickets the day of. I also tried checking craigslist but most posts just direct me to ticket sales sites.
Thanks!!
Ah since I'm here, any recommendations for restaurants / dance clubs (preferrably hip hop music and possibly an asian crowd) -_- I've already got a dinner cruise booked for our last night

I go to a few shows a year, and I have to say "the heights" .. hands down the best show I've ever been to. You will not be disappointed . The lead guy acually wrote the script. If Spamalot is still playing thats f-in hilarious also.
Spring awakening was good because you get to see the lead topless, but the Lion king? wtf lol

Rent would be great, but it closes on 9/7 and it's pretty much sold out.
If your into Monte Python at all, Spamalot is fantastic.
And there is Young Frankenstein... anything by Mel Brooks is funny
Wicked is a real chick show... she'll love it
For a lot of shows, if you are there and go to the box office, they usually have tickets available.

Yeah I just saw spamalot last weekend (in Philly though) and it as mostly funny, but there seemed to be some oddly serious musical numbers in it that reminded me that I was watching musical theater.
