When I got my tires mounted, the other day, the kid that was at the shop told me that he wasnt sure if he could get the alignment tool on my rims to do an alignment. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

I sold my stockers last year and hope that I don't need to borrow someone's stockers just to get an alignment.

 

Sounds a little crazy. What are the dimensions of the wheels?

 

Yea, my guy had a tough time, but I basically forced him to do it! haha

The rim protectors on that tire, BFG KDW TT if I am not mistaken (same ones I have) do not allow for much gap to fit the alignment heads onto it without scratching. You may need to deflate the tire and wrap the little metal clips with a thin strip of electrical tape, then reinflate on the alignment rack. It worked for me and I have NO marks on my rim at ALL. it can be done, just need to find the right person to do it

The tires are Nitto NT555's

I will ask them to use this method if they cannot get the clips on.

And Trodis, they are 18x8.5's front and 18x9.5's in the rear

 

Ahh, I was looking just at the outside shoulder blocks...very similar to the KDW block size/look. I rarely dealt with Nitto's in my 4 years in the biz

yeh sorry to say but its deff possible thats why i did my alignment on my car with the stock stuff on it there are ways around it like stated, but then the problem is that the alignment head may not be mounted 100% true to the surface of the rim and alignment could be off by a little depending on how new and sensitive the alignment rack may be best bet some is to put some stockers on for it just my 2 cents tho
