well idk where you are looking to shoot in nj. there is a place in lakewood called sureshot i think the name is or there is a place in jackson called central jersey rifle and pistol club. the 2nd one i listed is a very big nice range. has 300yd, 200yd, 100yd, 50yd, 25yd range. an indoor 25yd range, archery range, and a bunch of sporting clay ranges

I am from New Jersey, and you won't be able to shoot a gun without a NJ firearm license. There is an excellent place where you can rent guns with your driver license in PA ( AK47, M16, desert eagles, snipers caliber .30, shotguns.. and many more. check this website. http://sunsethill.slvrcreek.com/home.htm
try to wait for the summer because it is an outdoor shooting range.

no you do not need to have permit to rent guns. you only need permit to own guns. even if you have guns of your own the range does not check that you have your permit.
