NYC lowered Z and FAT tires do you carwash?
Hi,
I use the automated car wash now and then and noticed by stock Z barely clears the car wash rails (well from my point of view).
I was wondering if any lowered Z's and with wider tires every tried using a carwash???
I know, i know, its always better to hand wash, but realistically i don't always have the time to do so....
Also how is everyone dealing with the crappy roads and steep hills to get in everywhere???

I would never take my Z to a carwash - I'll sooner freeze outside doing it myself, or drench my garage making it clean vs risking ruining parts that can no longer be obtained, or quickly replaced
i do wash my car myself and i got enough detailing tools to fill a full closet with as well.
But just sometimes i feel like going to the carwash...and wondered if it possible with lowered Z's and wider tires (265~275)

I tried once after lowering and scraped on the rails. After that I always used the touchless ones that you drive into. I drove my car all year long as long as there was no snow on the ground (had the explorer for that) and wanted to wash it every so ofter to get any sand/salt off. I don't store the hose in my house so that is frozen all winter.
My new car only goes to the touchless as well because the rims are painted and would get trashed, plus it is black and any small scratches or swirls show up like a sore thumb.

It uses water juts to clean the car. Normally you drive into it and it has an arm with spray nozzles that rotaes around the car. Nothing actually ever touches the car hence the name touchless. They don't get completely clean though, a wipe down with a microfiber and quick detailer after helps.
Ahhh i know them as laser wash! Its a high pressure water gun that you can see the water wipe the dirt/dust out! i suppose i have use those....
But still I want to know if i can make it through!

I went to try one of those automated car wash because i had free car wash coupon. soon as i try to go in they told me to back out cuz my car is too low. it's only 1.25 lowered. =(
yeah, there arent any rails in the touchless ones ive been to.. its just a garage bay with a drain in the middle that you pull into until it says STOP. then the arm thing goes around your car cleaning it, and then you drive out.
I don't know how close you are to Andrew BIGA
