Default @#$%ing acorns....

Acorn fell off a tree and landed square on my hood when I was out driving this afternoon...now the hood looks like I threw a d@mn golf ball at it...and the local paintless shop wants 150 bones to fix it...

I'm too angry to think straight right now, so I guess I'll just stop typing. Thanks to the message board for letting me vent my frustration at this horrendous turn of events.

Sucks indeed....though now that I've taken a look at it with a clear head, I guess it's not as bad as I thought. It's about the size of a quarter, no paint scratches thankfully.

Still noticable enough that I wanna get it fixed though...can't be drivin sucj a fine vehicle with a ding in such a conspicuous location

I somehow managed to get my front windshield cracked not once but twice within 2 weeks with the car on the freeway. And I've only had it for just over a month now. Both small and now fixed, but if you look close enough, you can still see the marks.

Dave, I got the same thing on my hood 3 weeks ago (the week I was up for the ride with you, Deb and the others). By the way, I haven't heard anything about another ride. Did Roger decide to give up on that?

I haven't heard anything about another ride recently either. I'm probably not going to be able to make it anyway if it's on the 27th, as Roger proposed. I've got a huge grad school final due the Thursday after that, and factoring in my work schedule, I'm probably going to need to earmark that weekend for finishing it up. It's obviously not my first choice on how to spend an early autumn weekend, but in the academic world, A's always take precedence over Z's.

Sorry about lack of information on a meet but I had an unexpected family emergency that has caused me to delay a meet until I knew what was going to happen. Fortunately everything went as planned last week and as of Friday things are settling back to normal so the meet is back on schedule. My only problem now is that my car is getting shipped off to a factory in Kansas for a little engine upgrade (and then on to SEMA in Vegas) and is scheduled to go around the second week in October. On top of that I have a new body kit that I have to get installed between now and then, but hopefully that will just take a couple of days. I need to wait and see if my car can be shipped the week of 10/13 which would leave the dates of 10/04 or 10/11 open. Would 10/04 be too early (two weeks away)? Personally I would prefer 10/11 if I can swing it.

Dave, hopefully an October date will work out better for you!

BTW, today is my 1 year anniversary for the car!

Roger,

Early October may very well work out better...I'm pretty sure I've got a paper due the Monday after the 11th, but I may be able to get enough of it done in advance of that to make it feasible. I'll have to check my Syllabi and see what dates work out the best.

Default Ok, Time To Get the Chainsaw...

Earlier today, my dad was driving down the same street where I had the acorn mishap....and guess what happened! Right on the hood of his BMW 325i. His ding looks almost exactly like the one I got. He saw the ding in my hood a couple days ago didn't think it was worth fixing...methinks that opinions have changed now.

OK, the first time it happened I would chalk it up to bad luck - wrong place at the wrong time. But now that it has occurred a second time, I've got to believe that there's a squirrel up in that tree with a vendetta against your family! What the hell did you do to this guy to **** him off?
