Got my other car inspected the other day and apparently the process has changed since my last inspection. This time they drive the front wheels into a little divot and a large block comes out of the floor and lifts the front of the car. I was a little pissed on my other car because there doesnt seem to be any frame where the block was lifting the car.
My questions is if anyone has had the Z to a public inspection station in NJ and did they lift the car? Any damage? There seems to be a lifting point inline with the front wheels on this car, so Im a little less worried on the Z.
oh i took mine to wayne in nnj...idk why they do it but they had a really hard time with it...i was a little nervous watching them try to lift it up and drop it 5 times...

why were they lifting your car up?
I took my c230 sport sedan for the inspection today and they didn't lift it or anything. All they did was plug their computer into it, take a picture of the bottom to make sure i had cats on, and although i haven't lowered the car as it is pretty low from the factory, the f'n inspectior guy drove it really fast up some ramp (i think it checks for an alignment or something). I thought he was gonna bottom out but luckily the car didn't. He didn't treat it as carefully as I had liked. I'm worried about taking my z there now cause that one actually is lowered and if he hurts my car i'm gonna be f'n pissed and I'm gonna complain.

Screw the inspection station. Find a garage that can do it, even if it costs a few bucks. It's worth it to avoid the lines and hassles from the morons who do the inspections, especially since every station I've ever used has charged me considerably less than a tank of gas.
