Default NJ Tuners

Is there any good Nissan Tuners in the Tri-state area, I am looking to get my maxima tuned vq35de, I looked on the org, and didn't see anything appealing. I am considering sending the ecu off to technosquare but not sure If it be worth it to get that.

There is a member on the org that has made a PNP harness for a UTEC, I am either looking to get that or a Haltech maybe a Greddy E-manage system, but heard the e-manage system aren't to friendly with maxima ecu's. if anyone could give me some idea's that be great.

The only reason I post on here is due to the fact that are engines are 99& Identical, just different lengths in blocks. everything else is the same motor wise etc. I am looking at Hydra's as well, apparently there isn't one for the maxima but they said they could put together one depending on what mods I have or how much boost Id be running.

Thanks for the response vince, I have an 03 GLE, But I am looking to get an 6 speed soon. If I am not mistaken UpRev, had previously tried to make maps etc for the maxima's but they were to big or the ecu wouldn't accept the whole map.

Nothing to do with it being a Maxima, just that the Maxima doesn't start using the newer style Nissan ECU till later. AFAIK Nissan switched the Maxima to the new ECU in 2005. Don't quote me on that as we still have yet to see a Maxima at our shop to verify, but thats what I've been told.

On the 03 I'd just take it to Vince at RT and let him have a go at it. He'll be honest with you about your options and you'll have to decide which is the best way to go for your particular situation.

Yes you are correct, it was the 04-05 They started using the different connectors for the ecu's, the 04-05 use the 350z connectors so do the altima's i believe. There's a guy over on the org, that's making a PNP harness for the Haltech/UTEC.

VTR does good work, but is costly and IMO not worth it when you can take it to shop like R/T just over in Lansdale. It will be much easier for you than heading up to Long Island. A friend of mine just had his GTR modded at VTR and it came out really good, but R/T is a top notch facility.

thanks man. their isn't a whole lot you can do to a maxima that's the problem. there's nothing really there for tuning.

There are people out there with some pretty well modded Maximas. I had a 2001 SE 5-spd years ago that I bought new, and there were people who would show up to meets putting down some serious numbers on all generations of those cars. I never drove one of the 3.5's, but I can imagine it bridges the gap between the 01 that I had, and a 350Z in terms of power.

Yea the VQ35's got power for sure. I have yet to drive a 7th gen. I've been throwing around the idea of getting a 6 speed maxima. I don't know, I've been looking at a lot of cars lately.

Don't get me wrong my 03 GLE is nice, I just want a stick shift.
