Default Help me fix my rattle/clunk! I will pay $200!

I cannot stand this any longer. My car is driving me crazy. The rattling noise in the back is getting out of hand. If anybody out there thinks they know what is going on, please contact me ASAP with your services. I have adjusted the latch, secured every tool, had a strut gasket/seal replaced in the suspension, had new hatch struts installed, padded the area with microfiber towels when closing the hatch, and etc. My last resort is allegedly a broken weld that occurs at some black box located by the rear strut bar on the right side.

Here is the sound:

If anybody knows what this is, please, please, PLEASE help me. I really don't want to sell my car because of this, because I love it too damn much. But if I cannot fix it, I have no other choice.

are your rear shocks still good, kinda sounds like a shock noise. did you pull the plastics on the rear hatch, make sure nothing is loose, i.e. rear wiper motor, etc. did you make sure your exhaust is attatched as it's supposed to be? check your rear sway bar bushings, make sure all your suspension nuts and bolts are tight. Did this start after doing something to your car? after you hit something?

Edit, pm me. It will be easier to help since i wont be able to keep coming back to this thread

take it to a professional shop, even a dealer. Ask them if they have 'chassis ears'. It is a little microphone system that they strap to different places and when it detects sound, it flashes. they keep shifting them around the car until they can pinpoint where the noise is coming from

I have two other New Yorkers in a thread that have visited numerous NY dealers, and none of them found a thing. They've all made suggestions and replaced or tightened things down, without effect.

I get that noise too in the rear hatch area. It sounds like the drivers side but I cant figure it out. Just really gives me an excuse to turn my stereo up louder or keep my RPMs higher

sound like your suspension if thats happening when you hit a bump.....check your springs and shock on that side. really sounds like the two bolts that hold your rear strut to the car are not there...jack that side of car up take tire off and look up into wheel well where shock meets ceiling of wheel well...i bet those two nuts are either loose or have come off.....seriously

Yeah, it happens when I hit a bump. I'll take a look at the strut again, but there was no play in it before. I even had Nissan replace the strut gasket/seal, which means they had to take off the strut and retorque it...and the sound never went away.

Btw, someone has to actually come and fix the rattle for me to pay out. LOL.

Never! I still have to say that I prefer the 5AT for overall driveability. I can get stuck in the worst traffic and not feel as annoyed as someone in a MT car would.

Yeeep. He drove the car and it started driving him crazy. LOL. We're both trying to figure out what the f*ck is going on. I may go there tomorrow afternoon to take a good look at the strut.

But you wont have as much fun on open roads as someone with a 6sp. And i dunno about you, but I never have fun in traffic regardless of my transmission.

It sounds the same in the video as it does in person, Kenny. The iPhone captured it flawlessly.

this could be a longshot but maybe it is your springs.
jack up the car and see if the springs are loose.

i rather sit in the car and pinpoint the sound where it's coming from. it's like finding a girl from myspace and then meeting up with her realizing she's about 100 lbs overweight from the pics.

you don't live far and maybe I can save you the trouble of driving and having that irritating sound.
