Default Shop that can mount a 285/30 V710 on 18x9

Went to 3 different places trying to get the tire mounted and inflated. So far no luck. RT Tuning told me to go to a tire shop that does this on a daily basis. Tried going to Charley's Tires on Richmond Rd on Staten Island (would never go back there again, what a d!ck that guy was) and then swung by Tire Empire on Hylan Blvd and they gave it a good try but couldn't get it to set either. Anybody know for certain any shops that have mounted a 285/30/18 v710 on a 18x9 rim?

Default tires

I have done mine 275/35/18 at 2199 Bellmore ave, 11710. Place called Mariquino's Tire. He charged $35 for each wheel from me with mount/unmount on a car.

I agree

It's only for autox. There are even crazier pinches out there. I have heard of 275s on 7.5 inch rims. The angle of the sidewall isn't as bad as you would think on mine. Just can't find anyone to set the bead and air them up.

Staisman, thanks for the tip. Will look into it.

Any other tire places that regularly mount for autox'ers?

Are they using the Cheeta to seat the bead?

I know one place did for sure. They used a small one. The others I don't know. I may have to just spray lighter fluid and light it up. I'm hopin there is a shop around NY/NJ/CT/PA thats willing to heat them up in the sun or just throw a match at them with ether. No luck so far on finding a more "creative" place.

Yes. It's not the optimal setup. I purchased the rims before I got into racing and now am trying to make it work as best as possible without buying another set of rims. The only options I can find in v710s is a 245, a 285 and a 305. Since there are Stock class guys riding on far more risky pinches then even a 285 on a 9" I figured this would be a decent option. I am losing a bit of contact up front but I think its better than running a 245.
