I'm hoping someone can give me an idea of what I'll have to do to pass inspection in NJ with both my cars... here are the specs that concern me...

350z - no cats, full hks exhaust. Anyone have a set you'd lend out or sell if I need them temporarily? :-D. Also have tint on front side windows and poorly-done tint on the hatch (blurry).

240sx - custom exhaust (aka my friend welded it), don't know about cats, charcoal canister but the rest of the emissions related parts gutted, Ecu remapped to pass over a faulty MAF code, no knock sensor (ecu doesn't care...?)... Oh dear. I'm in for it.

Any thoughts?

 

For the 350, put the cats back on and remove the tints. For the 240, you're going to have to weld in cats. If you don't want to do that then good luck finding a shop where you can buy a sticker.

 

Hey thanks for the info! I'll see if i can get the 240 cats welded in by a friend here, because... sticker? I have no idea what that refers to!

 

if its an obd2 car, you need to just not have any cel lights, and no tints, unless you pay off a local shop.

 

Obd2 you are allowed 1 out of 9 to be NOT Ready. Correct CEL can't be on. And older than 10 years you are allowed 2 out of 9.
