Anybody have any recommendations? All the places around here are crazy shady and tell you "oh, your brakes are low" or 'this and that needs to be fixed'...when none of it does. Where do you guys go in the Queens or Long Island (Nassau) area?

Tell them their full of **** and youll report them for not properly inspecting the car. Im in suffolk so i dunno if you want to come that far.
BRakes only fail if their metal on metal
Tires have to be basically bald over more then 1 tread pattern.
So if someone tryes to feed you that **** say," Ok can I get your lic. number for the building, Im going to report you for cheating me."
DMV takes those complaints pretty seriously.
