Reliable Stainless Steel Welder in NY/LI
Hey all,
I am looking for a reliable, trustworthy and knowledgeable welder who can do stainless steel exhaust. It's going to be a super quick weld job. I just would like a shop that knows what they're doing. The area of choice would be Central-ish Long Island - near Hauppauge, Smithtown, Islip area or near Astoria, Queens.
The story:
So Saturday I installed my Borla TD and mated the magnaflow x-pipe to it to replace the H pipe. Just my luck, I over expanded the inlet pipes on the x-pipe and they're way over-sized now and need to be heated up/conformed/welded. I've done it before on my older car but have gotten rid of my welding equipment years ago. Also will need the outlet of the x-pipe welded too. It is solid as a rock and isn't going anywhere, but since there is a nice gap where the pipe goes in, it sounds terrible. I started the heating/conforming already to shrink the gap and put an oversized muffler clamp on it but will not work well enough - tried a lap band clamp too and wont work. Plus a weld is so much cleaner.
So if anyone can recommend someone or some place, please let me know! I checked out the sticky up top and tried to get to the College Point place's website but it was timing out - are they still around?
Thanks everyone!

Wound up going to this place called United Exhaust. All they do is fab up exhausts, headers, custom jobs - and welding is second nature to them. Their shop has been there a while and was old and run down looking, but I grew up in a place like that so I felt comfortable with it. Got the job done in 30mins for 50 bucks. Worth every penny - my eardrums stopped bleeding. Thanks for the input guys.
I thought about calling performance motorsports but hesitated for some reason...didn't want to tie up a lift of theirs for a simple thing like this I think. They will be my first phone call once the Osiris comes in though
