Default In dire need of a new windshield after mtn run.

I had a few tiny cracks before the run but a big rock made quite a spider crack in my windshield.

Was wondering if anyone has any recomendations for a good windshield replacement company? I have never had a replacement windshield put on and I know some of my friends have had some nightmares with their replacments. I'm in the south shore mass area.

Just get a generic company to replace. Talk to your insurance and tell them the pits and chips in your windshield is hindering your ability to see out the window. It should be replaced free of charge As long as you have pretty standard coverage.

I think he wants to know if anyone has had a good exp with one. It is a bigger job on the z because they have to take that entire piece above the doors off.
Honestly no matter who you go to it won't be perfect. Just take pictures beforehand, and report any damage.

I was not aware of the panels being taken off. Sorry fitzy for my useless answer. Ray, you still suck.

Just made an appointment for safelite. thank you for the tips. My friends car has rust near the top of the windshield he went to JN philips I'm sure it could of just been a bad installer but i don't wanna take that chance.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll be happy with the work. I've had some rust around the the edges as well. the tech took the liberty of sanding off the rust and putting some primer on the bare metal to keep it from happening again.

Really??? We have really good coverage and my girlfriend's windshield recently got damaged pretty badly and they were going to make us pay our $500 deductible for the replacement (which was ~$600 or so).

^This, I had a 10" crack in mine before the run and it surprisingly didn't get any bigger, but they came and replaced it today and did a great job, no scratches dings or anything.

I think you have to have glass coverage or technically its considered an accident.

I thought mine was covered under collision and comprehensive or something like that.

That may be a MA thing i'm not sure. Here in mass If you have full coverage you get any 2 windows per year for free.

Yeah, had mine replaced a couple years ago for free under my insurance. It's the least they could do considering they rape me every month.
