Default Car audio install at best buy/circuit city: bad idea??

Well the title pretty much gives the whole question. Santa just brought me a new kenwood head unit, and in last car ('01 jetta) I just ended up taking it to circuit city to get installed. I already have a dash kit (metra) for it, and the cd player. But I'm a little hesistant now, because I took it by circuit city and by best buy -- both places really gave that "Damn I dont know how" vibe when i was asking about install there. Also both places have yet to do any car audio work on a 350z...but I unfortunately WOULD not even attempt to do it myself, so my options are kinda limited. Have any of you all gotten work done at either of these places, or got any advice as to where I should get the head unit installed?
If any of the owners in the MD/DC/VA area have gotten any car audio work done, please let me know if you have a specifc place I should go.

TIA

I'd try and do it yourself. I don't trust anybody nowadays, as they'll get your address from the computer, and within a few weeks, you can kiss your stereo goodbye. So do some research, buy the appropriate wire harness, and do it yourself.

Are there any Tweeters in your area or possibly local stereo shops. I would go talk to both an see if they have done an install on a 350Z. If you were in New England I could send you to about 10 different shops... if you feel like driving to MA or RI let me know.

Haha, actually Tweeter is exactly where I ended up going! They were great, and the work was superb. Here's a link to the thread in the audio/nav section of the forum, it has little more details on the HU I got and the install, just in case you or anyone else is interested. Thanks though, I appreciate the help
