Hey guys I'm not the organizer for this event, just trying to make sure it has exposure and gets a good turnout. Should be a great time just like this week's C2C cruise!
Columbia Gorge Cruise
Time: July 8, 2006, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM
Location: Shari's, Troutdale, OR
Are you ready to check out the refurbished Crown Point building and see some classic OR/WA scenery?
When: Saturday, July 8, 2006
10:00 am. Gather.
10:30 Depart
Where: Shari's, I-84 Troutdale,OR exit # 17
We will head east along the Historic Columbia Gorge Hwy. There will be a quick stop at Scientific Point and a photo stop at Crown Point. We will proceed to Multnomah Falls for a short view walk point. We should arrive at Bonneville Dam around noon for a tour.
Lunch is planned at the Charburger Country in Hood River.
Next we will cruise to the top of Panorama Point in Hood River.
We will give the Washington side of the river a 'look see', as we go across the Hood River toll bridge (.75 cents) and then head west along Hwy 14.
The Bridge of the Gods crossing ($1.00 toll) will return us to eastbound along Hwy 84.
Our final stop will be at Edgefield (McMenemins) in Troutdale for a beverage or snack.
We would love to see as many of you as possible come out and show your support. It would be an awesome sight to see 15 to 25 Z's cruising in formation down the road.
Let's make them look! Then, let's make them think WOW!

I think I'll try to make this one, might be able to convince some friends from work to go too (360 modena, Elise, Talon tsi, RX-8). We'll see, I've had some friends ask me to go camping too, but they're going camping mainly for the dirt bike trails, which, not having a dirt bike, makes it kind of pointless for me so yeah, I'll probably show up.
You know about another 45 minutes up the road is the WW1 stonehenge monument (on the WA side)? Its a great place for pictures since you can drive a whole bunch of cars right up next to it and it overlooks the gorge/river. Only takes about 45 minutes to get to Hood River from East Portland so you might want to consider extending the drive a little bit anyways. There's a toll-free bridge right on the other side of the river from it as well.

Well like it says I'm not the event organizer so I dont have a say in what route we take and what not. You can certainly run that idea by Damon. I dont have a problem with driving farther

Well, I should be there. However, my wife can't make it, so I don't have someone to film.
I will bring the camera though and let someone else film if they like (it has an easy mode that we use and anyone can too).

I'll be meeting up with my buddy up near the airport so I'll see you guys at Shari's. Looks like the 360 is a no-go, and the guy in the Elise is a maybe, he says the Lotus club is having a drive tomorrow as well, but this one sounds more interesting.
