If you're using TurboTax I know that's one of the questions asked in the California version.

You can itemize deductions for taxes on large purchases such as a car or interest on your home morgage. You can also deduct for RTA taxes paid on registering your car, look on the bottom of your registration for how much you paid in 2006. Also, don't forget about education expenses, including tuition and books, that can be deducted. In 2006 you can also take the long distance phone tax credit (deduction?), I cant remember which it is.

And yes, I am an accountant.

I deducted the taxes on my 2005z in 2005...

Using H&R Block its a breeze...

Just find your bill of sale, and fill it out as WA tax.

You can claim WA tax + big ticket items... Or if you're really crazy you can itemize EVERY tax you pay in WA.

Me personally... I just deducted my fridge+car+wa tax line item in 2005.

This last year it was just the 7.9 or 8.1% tax on my wage...

*Checks for his return... Should have it any day.*
