Thumbs up Escort 9500i

I just bought my 9500i radar detector. and it is pretty cool. The GPS unit in it to mark locations to auto mute is pertty cool. I have integrated it with the Laser Jamming system which works great.

I just need to pay attention to the undercover cars now.

Isn't it a bad idea to post that you have a jammer on public forums?

not that i'm interested in doing so, but in theory if one were to acquire this laser jamming system you speak of, i don't even know what it is, how would one go about doing so?

A Laser Jammer is Legal (escort ZR3). Since Radar is regulated by the FCC, it is illigal to jam. Laser is regulated by the FDA (why, i have no idea) so Jamming isn't an issue at all and you cant get in ANY legal trouble of having one.

Escort makes the ZR3 which piggy backs onto their radar detectors (x50, 9500, sr7). In consists for 2 front, and 1 rear sensor that will "shift" the laser signal creating an error message on the officers display. We had them at Magnolia. Other dealers are Car Toys, Benchmark Motoring, Best Buy, and maybe Circuit ****ty.

Nice, have you had experience with the 8500? (i know the 9500 is better)

I just installed the shifter as well. If the 9500 is THAT much better maybe i'll have to switch. lemme know!

My setup: (no jack intended) Pics for people that dont know what the unit is.

^ you might want change where you have your x50 mounted...especially in that car. If you want to optimize performance, the best place to mount it is right under your rearview mirror. Just run the hardwire up your a-pillar and through your headliner

I have both Radar detectors now. Having the new detector prevents me from hitting the mute button everytime i go to a spot that I know makes my radar goes off. More convience than anything. It also has and auto volume feature I like. if it sense loud noises the radar detector increasing volumes.

It was an excuse to buy another gadget I say, but I like it. If you have the money I would do it if not the 8500 is still a good radar detector and even better with the zr3 system.
