oops.... my mistake, it is the 15th.
I'm thinking I'll go down Thursday night, not really wanting to get up at 4am to be there by 7, makes a very long day and you're just dead tired afterwards
ok, so whoever is interested post up and we can decide when to roll down there....
Also, when you register, you may want to fudge the truth and let them know you've been to a trackday before if you haven't. If you don't, you'll spend the morning driving around cones until they know you're not a hazard on the track.
So lets make the deadline 5/23 and I'll organize this with the details.

I've been itching for a track day, this one may fit the bill, and is relatively cheap.
Note that there are "requirements" for their track days, namely driving school (theirs or an approved one) or 3+ previous track days. I'm not sure how lenient they are on this. (Thankfully I have 3 previous track days

Not true, Soopa. The only "negative" with being in group one (novice) is that it is mandatory to ride with an instructor.
In my opinion, this is never really a bad thing because you can always learn new lines/techniques. Cascade is a fun group to run with, I highly recommend them!

I've done multiple Cascade days and everyone in Group1 did not get as much track time as the other groups, they were sent over to the infield pits first.....but I agree if you don't have any trackday experience it may be good to be with an instructor

*I understand that it would suck to pay for the HPDE and get less time than others on track, but safety is 1st, and learning/using basic drivings skills is a must to go fast.
If you want to learn car control, come out to a AutoX first...it's cheaper and usually much safer. If you can find a practice day, you can usually get in more than 10 runs.

IMO, it's better to start out with a humble assessment of your car and driving skills until you can prove to yourself and others (event coordinators, instructors...) that you're ready.

yep, I agree..... I was just thinking for the guys who have honestly explored the limits of their cars but haven't been to a trackday. If you're a noob better go Group 1
To be honest, all groups get four 20 minute sessions so I'm not sure why you are saying that group one gets less time on the track.
If you want to get technical, after the driver's meeting the group one folks can actually have the instructors drive them around the track to learn how it is setup. So, technically, they get MORE seat time than the others...
