well, it started when a person named sti_knockout on nasioc.com sent a PM to worldone performance asking if a set of volk gts 19x9.5 +17, 19x10.5 +18 would fit on an 05 sti with toyo t1r 255/35/19, 275/35/19, since he had a friend selling them for really cheap. Worldone let me know someone was inquiring about them. We PM'd him back and forth for a couple days, but the person wouldn't give up his real name. Checked his other posts on nasioc, and saw that he only had like 26 posts, all pertaining to items for sale. No info on himself other than his STI is white with a carbon fiber trunk, and he lives in bellevue. Couple weeks later he created a thread that he was selling his kawasaki ninja 636 on craigslist for 7k. Strarted to e-mail him on craigslist about the bike, and set up a meet at his house to take a look at the bike. Took scott (sdbarker) with me, and we took his car. Meet the guy at his house, and started talking about cars and bikes. Got Scott to start saying that he needs to start to modify his Z. Mentioned body kits, rims, turbos al that stuff. The person chimed in saying that his buddy has a set of wheels for sale. They were volk GTS, gloss black with like a 5" lip on them. We then tried to get the info from the guy about who was selling them, but he didn't have much. I then told him that those were my wheels that were stolen from my car on the 1st of the month. I told him that I would need all the info he has about that guy, or I would have my police buddy go to his house and get it. He complied. Got his e-mail address, full name, and found out what he drove (dark blue acura rsx-s). Called worldone since I didn't have the persons address. Garrett the owner of worldone said that he knew the kid, and had some of his info. I got his phone number, and address from them. Called the kirkland police and let them know what I had. They told me to do a civil standby with the seattle PD since the person lived in seattle. So my friend scott and I went over to the persons house in seattle, and called the police requesting the civil standby. We waited about 3 hours for the police to arrive. They told us that they weren't going to do anything, because they didn't have a search warrant. Told me to go down to kirkland pd the next day, and demand a search warrant. I did, and I was introduced to a plain clothes detective who's whole job is returning stolen property. He said that he would head over to the house in seattle that night, and if he saw anything suspicious, he would get a search warrant. I was happy with that, so I said OK. The next day I got a phone call from the detective saying that I need to come down to the station to pick up my wheels. Apparently the person bought them from some guy that he knew on craigslist for 1k. Gave that persons info to the police (and they wont give it to me ). So I have to wait and see what happens with that person, and I'm curious to see if I know that person at all.

in a case like this, what does the police ask for to prove they are yours, besides the fact you files a stolen report with them??

well, my wheels are unique to me. The annodized lips were damaged, so I stripped the annodizing finish off all 4 wheels, and hand polished them to a shine. So the lips are shinnier than the normal gt-s. The center caps are the sf challenge center caps. I took off the stickers on 2 of the wheels on the inside of the wheel. And I still have the boxes and all my receipts from the purchase. I believe there are serial numbers too.

There should be serial numbers on the stickers on the inside of the barrel.

On behalf of everyone at World One, this is awesome news! Garret just told us about this thread so I just wanted to chime in and express my happiness as well. And to think, this all started because of a weird PM I got on NASIOC!

yeah, thank you again! Now I have to decide wether I want to sell the GT-S or the RE30. Both look nice (the RE30 are growing on me).
