vant, you pm me this morning and you go ahead and post pm's before anything is settled? you honestly think someone who was trying to scam you would neatly wrap all those pieces in newspaper one by one? you really think someone trying to scam you shipped the product via Fedex with tracking? you honestly think someone with 6000+ posts and 21 itrader would scam someone for $100 or rather the $99.00 that you sent instead of the $100 we agreed on, which I found amusing. in anycase, lets talk about this via messenger or something. i hate pm'ing back and forth trying to fix a dispute.

Thats a hard one. you both could have lost one. Id try and find the cost of 4 locking ones verses 1 locking one, then you can try and get a partial refund.

I created the thread to gain some info on what I should do. Thanks to the members, I've already figured out some ways that I can deal with this. Notice how I never blamed you for trying to scam me. This thread was never intended to scratch your reputation, but rather to gain information on what to do in situations like these.

I'll PM you my phone number and AIM account and we can go on from there

Was the package opened by fedex?

I've had that happen to things I've shipped for whatever reason. If it was opened they would have resealed it with fedex logo tape.

Not to my knowledge. It was sealed with clear wide tape.

They always use logo'ed tape to let you know who opened it. So I guess that rules that out.

Yes. They were all wrapped individually by newspaper. I did not throw any of the newspaper away.

This is childish, IMHO. Whats the big deal. Talk to the shipping company and see if they will do anything. If they will then great, if not oh well, buy a wheel lock. Or a set if you have to. I personally wouldn't take all this time and effort trying to dispute one lug or lock.

afaik Volk lugnuts are only sold as a complete set (16 lugs & 4 locking lugs). That's $150.

This situation is really tough, b/c nobody besides the two of you will ever know what's really going on. Hope you guys are able to find some kind of resolution.

$100+ is the big deal. I don't have a money tree in my back yard!

I take it that Nexx did indeed have the lugnut? I hope he apologized for his accusations and I'm glad everything was settled peacefully.
