The 5spd Autos in the CL-S and TL-S have a extremly HIGH failure rate. Stay away from those. I owned a CL-S and it went through two trannys in 20k of miles.

Dayum seems like it holds abuse pretty well so I shouldn't be worried as a DD as long as I run a compression before hand.

Thanks for the heads up. I test drove one last night but something just wasn't "right" about it so I passed. I'm currently sticking with the IS platform since it has everything I want/need right now with the price range I'm looking to pay.

My only issue is maintenance. I've been lurking on e46fanatics but kinda got scared away by all the horror stories on edmonds and other places. I do love them and would love to pick one up but it's just not reliable enough for me.

I'm having a hard time finding a clean Is for the price range and want to keep my options open. Anyone have positive/negative feedback on the Chrysler 300's? Big, Roomy, decent mileage, in my price range, and love the looks.

The first thing you MUST do to that car is throw some Bentley badges on it. I've actually seen a 300, not even a 300C mind you so it was a 6 banger with full bentley badges.
