Default Anyone have a pickup I can borrow?

I'm moving (literally across the street) on the 31st, and could use a pickup truck if anyone has one that I can borrow for a day. I'd rather skip renting something from uHaul if I can avoid it.

Eric, your Titan doesn't count because of the bed cover.

True. I just always hate dealing with them.

Pacfwu, that'd be awesome if you could help out!

I'm considering just getting a 35' truck or so for the day, putting all of my crap in it, driving across the street, and unloading it all. Just one fell swoop instead of a bunch of little trips.

If you help me take off the tonneau you can use it for the day!

The more I think about it, the more the idea of the one-trip uhaul appeals to me. Because w/ a standard truck, it'd just take way too many trips. I have some pretty large furniture.

What do ya'll think?

Yeah, that works out. It'd probably be more expensive to fill my dad's truck and drive all the way down there then it would be to rent a u-haul for an afternoon. I'm still down to help out though.

I'm moving /literally/ across the street, because rent will be $950 instead of $1,445.

I definitely appreciate all the help you guys are offering. It's /awesome/.

I have some pretty big stuff to move so the more hands the better. As the day gets closer and completely ironed out, I'll let everyone who's volunteered know. And I'll have beers available for those who are assisting.

If you move on a weekend I should be able to use my dealerships parts truck. Its a long bed truck so hella **** can fit. Let me know if this might work for you.

One trip in a UHaul > bunch of small trips any day of the week.

I'm going to be purchasing a 16-20' box truck pretty soon, if I had it already I'd let you use that, but I think if you want to get it done fast & easy, rent a uhaul and make 1 trip.

That may definitely work as well. Thanks, homie!

Right now it's looking like either the 30th or 31st, it MAY be earlier, but definitely won't be later. I may end up having to leave all of my stuff in the truck over night if the place isn't available to move IN to on the 1st (which is the technical date of my move in) in the event that it won't be ready until then, but we're trying to line things up to make it happen sooner.

So, I just got off the phone, here's the score:

I'll be doing my move-in walkthrough at around 2:30 on the 30th (Friday), at which point I'll get the keys, and start moving my smaller ****. I'll continue that throughout Saturday afternoon and have my place basically gutted with nothing but big things remaining for Saturday evening-ish. I have a Mariners/Tigers game to go Saturday from 1:00-whenever-it-ends, and then the big stuff will go over.

Any time that anybody wants to show up and lend a hand for any of those events would be great. As mentioned, beers will be provided.

Also, any boxes that anybody has would be a great help too.

I can bring you some boxes home from work. I'll grab some tomorrow and bring them home in case you want to start packing. Just PM me and I can get them over to you. And if I'm around I'lll swing by on moving day (Dave likes beer)
