Concept Racing and Graphics - 360-805-5169

Everyone has a shot at qualifying for the Top 16 and we've organized the event so everyone should get pretty much the same number of runs (except the Best 8 will end up taking more competition runs!)

The competition is heating up. To see where you stand see: http://www.evergreendrift.com/2008_Standings.html

The series top five drivers from Competition #1 are:
  1. Victor Moore
  2. Rob Primozich
  3. Mike Phillips
  4. Ian Fournier
  5. Roland Gallagher

Rob will not be attending this event loosing the chance to earn valuable points and opening the door for some one else to take his spot. Will Victor be able to say on top? Will Team Canada return in full uniform?

If you are serious about becoming the Evergreen Drift 2008 champion you can't afford to miss this event!

Quick Info
Date and Time: Friday July 11th - 7/11/2008 - 4pm - 10pm
Registration: Opens @ 4pm - First Come First Served - Driver's cap = 50
Location: Evergreen Speedway Monroe, WA - http://umai.kakudo.googlepages.com/l...nanddirections
Cost: $50 for drivers, $15 pit pass, $7 grandstand. No prepay - Cash or check only (not able to accept credit cards).
Contact info: See http://www.evergreendrift.com or email kelly@evergreenspeedway.com for more information

CLICK on the following links for more information: NOTE: All drivers and Pit pass people should read the above links to ensure you don't encounter any issues at the event.

Changes for this Event

Rules
  • If a driver commits unsafe behavior (i.e. speeding in the pits, drifting/aggressive driving outside of the official course) the driver will receive one warning and lose their next run. Upon the second infraction the driver will be disqualified from the event, not be allowed to run for the rest of the night, loose all competition points for the event, and will not receive a refund.

Competition
  • The course will have 2 judged clipping points. (Same course as competition #1 but the last clipping point will not be judged.)
  • Qualifying rules and format remain the same
  • Top 16 format and rules change in the works. Top 16 will be FD/D1 style head to head bracket elimination format. All drivers in the Tandem run group will be required to tandem. Drivers not qualified/equipped for tandem will compete in a 'psudo tandem' format where they take individual runs alternating with their competitor but are scored with the same head-to-head 10 point advantage system.
  • The points schedule for the top 16 finishers and qualification points that count towards the season championship will be posted.
  • Competition rules changes are still in the draft phase so stay tuned for updates. I'll announce when they are finished and published.

Come on out and invite your friends!!! The best way to improve the prizes and get more payout on the competitions is to bring more spectators so bring everyone you know.

See you there!

Remember spectating is always a good time. If you come through the back gate and get a pit pass you can check out all the cars and even go on a ride along if you ask nicely and bring a DOT or SNELL approved helmet along.

Hard to beat a ride along for $15!

So I drifted my car... it was fun! I met many cool peeps, got some tips and had some really good drivers ride along with me a few times.

Some comments made while I was there...

"Thats a nice car... dudes got some ***** drifting that!"

"I'd have to say your drift style is aggro" <-- my favorite, I was trying to have fun for myself, mission accomplished!

"3rd gear on the bank WOT... whip the wheel... kick the clutch.... let the steering wheel spin by itself... try not to hit the wall!

Too bad no one showed up to take pics.
