Default Need help with VIS CF Hood!!!!!!

I just purchased a VIS OEM carbonfiber hood but i'm having issues with alignment. the bolt pattern on the hood is somewhat off. Anyone have suggestions????????????????

I would send it back but got it off craigslist.....I made a big mistake!!!! I shouldve fitted it before I actually bought it ........Fu%^in pissed!!!!

I had major fitment issues with vis and I will never go that route again. I would try and contact the seller and see if you can work something out. Im sure he already knew the fitment was off and didnt bother mentioning it.

I figured that i guess i'll have to improvise some how....do you know any bodyshops around the area?????????????? Hopefully I can find a shop thats willing to redo the bolt pattern on it

sorry to hear about this ... i would hunt the guy down ... your hardcore stuck with it now that you posted it on here ... soo do everything you can to get it taken care of from the seller

redneck engineering may come into effect on this one... theres always a way... but in the future seibon ftw

hmm, had a VIS CF hood on my old IS300, fit very nicely. Too bad on this one for the Z.

+1 on the Seibon hoods

I got mine from From jeremy@worldoneperformance.com


The fitment was excellent. Price was great too w/ shipping.

make the holes bigger in the hinges and use larger washers. simple.

Take it to a body shop. My VIS hood had small fitment issues. $100 later it fits like a glove. Just go to a bodyshop.

Sorry to hear you are dealing with this, but VIS is pretty much known for poor fitment. Seibon seems to be a bit better, although they have their issues too.

Thanks for the input guys!!!!!!!!! I'll see what the bodyshop can do.....If all else fails I'll probably make the holes on the hinges bigger..........
