Default Need a smidge of advice!

Hey guys, so again I need a little help/review on this product. I'm looking at going with a lightened crank pulley. Not a whole set, but just the crank pulley, specifically this one at KJRPerformance. http://www.kjrperformance.com/products.htm Have any of you heard anything good/bad about this product? I read a few people's reviews and they said they were pleased...give me some input people! I was thinking of going UR but everyone has mixed opinions about underdriven sets..are there just any lightweight sets that aren't underdriven?... Thanks.

don't do it. normal crank pullies are dampened to absorb crank shaft shock each time a cylinder fires. you remove the dampening abilities and you add a ton more stress to the crank (due to vibration). look elsewhere for lightening stuff. do a lightweight flywheel and shave off 30+lbs of rotitional mass.

I don't see why the KJR pulley would be so bad...I could understand the vibrations put on your crank if you had a ton of other mods...but i'm just looking at the pulley or the UR pulley set + a 5/16 plenum spacer..I just need a direction to go in that's not going to screw up my car and cost a fortune in mods..

so, what would be better alternative - lightweight crank pulley(non-underdrive), or underdrive pulley.

Don't buy KJR products. Although they look similar to other brands like Unorthodox, as with most things, there's a reason they're cheaper. They're poorly designed with inferior metals. I remember in my Maxima days, they caused many people problems b/c of a lack of a proper metal bushing or sleeve or something like that.

no, they are bad! If you really want 1, get one of the 2 that I mentioned above. Don't cheat yourself, or your car, get the good items that won't hurt it.

are those two pulleys you listed though lightweight? It doesn't say anything in the description about them being light weight..just dampened? do they even help?

Unorthodox seems to make quality stuff. I've never heard of any problems with them.

Same, I found what i'm looking for just now. UR makes a pulley set that has all stock diameter specs, but just lightened. That way you don't have to get special sized belts of any kind and you're not underdrivin. If anyone is interested its the UR SSc set.
