If a cop can't buy his own car, then they shouldn't be driving cars that have been confiscated. That's BS. We spend our hard earned, or stolen, money to buy these cars and modify. Why should they be able to drive something they can't afford themselves.

Because people commit crimes, and while crime pays not only the criminal for a little bit, it pays off for law enforcement in the long run.

Racing is not a crime. It's a sport. There's winners and losers and...oh yeah the cops are the refs. The calls are unfair !!! boo and hoo. One things for sure, rapists and child molestors seem to get off easier.

The D doesn't mess around with cruisers:

This one has been around for a while.

For Dreamcruise this year, Royal Oak, MI picked up this guy:

Not to be outdone, the richer city next door, Birmingham, picked up this:

A couple months ago there was a newer white Toyota Tundra with full light kit pulling people over in the South end. Turns out the guy was a police imposter and finally got busted for "searching" his female victims.

How are we supposed to know if these pimped out rides are real cops or some fake wannabe trying to feel you up or jack you?

An acceptable practice is to slow down, turn on your hazard lights, and dial 911 to ask for verification of a cruiser pursuing you.

A) I am not sure why anyone hasn't gone balistic on your azz for saying that racing is not a crime. Last time I checked it was if done on public road.s

B) If you do that with real cops you're asking for all sort of trouble. First time I hear about this type of "acceptable practice".

Nobody went ballistic because he didn't on the street. But, yes, on the street it sure as **** is.

As for (b), I have to clarify that it is in Michigan. I don't know about here. But I don't htink they can really fault you for making sure that the person following is actually a cop. It's not as though you're trying to run from them. You've acknowledged that you know they are they are there and slowed down and indicated that. Could be a different story here though.

you can do that here too. However, different cities have different ordnance. In Seattle if the speed exceeds twice the speed limit they are not suppose to chase you, but they do it anyways. Usually people are encouraged to drive to a safe well lit place where they can be safe. Some cops can get you on Eluding a police officer or refusing to cooperate. Well, being charged BY THE COP with eluding an officer does not mean that the prosecutor will charge with the same crime. They would not do it simple because the statute does not proclaim what you have done as something wrong. Well, we live in an era when the economy is in a down turn. So expect maximum charges which means more money being taken out of your pocket and better revenue for the city you live in. I can go on and on. There are so many flaws with the laws currently. Cops are not out there to serve and protect, they are there to get ya'

Easy there sport. First of all, if you're scared of speed, then you're obviously driving the wrong car.

Second, racing is not a crime (fool) it's just illegal. If every law was a crime, then i'm quite sure you have committed a crime a few times. Like not wearing your seat belt. And don't tell me you have never had a drink or two or three and got behind the wheel.

So, as far as someone going balistic on me, why don't you give me your best shot tough guy.

That doesn't even make any sense.

If you do something illegal and break the law, that's a crime.

Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying. I don't know how many people have gone to jail for that, if any. Generally speaking, it's not a crime that's enforced by jail time.
