I *never* use the 18-55mm lens. I use the 50mm f/1.8 II, 55-250mm canon & tokina 11-16. I would rather move up closer or move back further with the 50mm lens and get much better shots than the 18-55 kit lens. I know I'm missing a pretty broad range, but I think I'll pick up the 17-55 f/2.8 eventually instead.
isn't treasure island near the bay area? seen some shots from there and they turn out sick! you could also do a goldengate bridge shot

my photography skills suck and I have a shitty camera. here's a pic when my car was practically stock.. once my spoiler goes on I am having the photo lead at my work take some shots.. he does some amazing work, and my car has gone through a lot of changes since ...
oh since this isn't only car stuff.. heres some shots from a pretty brutal hike we did over the summer. leaving out locations to see if people can guess :]

Thanks Tito, I'm trying to be more versatile so I'm taking more pics of people, animals, and scenery too. Visilly, that location is killer!
Here's another one of my "fall colors" collection...dammit my dog was white last year when we got her lol

It's at the Rattlesnake Ledge trail. I love that place, the views are to die for! I was unlucky that it was cloudy/rainy that day, but its a nice 2 mile hike up to that spot. You can opt to go back down, or continue another 8 miles to a totally different place.
Great pics from you also Alvin!
Since we're on the topic of Fall Colors, snapped this on Saturday:

car pic was at howarth park in everott/mukilteo, hike was near Index. I was pretty much dead by the end of it, the first few miles were easy peazy, but then it turned in to off trail straight incline for a long while.. the rocks we actually had to climb up to advance to the next lake area, but damn the view was worth it.
i hate my 50mm (the 1.8 and 1.4 version). the range is not good for car pics (especially at meets). i picked up a sigma 30mm f/1.4 that i've been happy with. how's the tokina? i already have the canon 10-22mm but i like the f stop on the tokina. what's the f stop on the 55-250mm? i have the 70-200mm f/2.8 but the range is not good for anything!

As for the 50mm, I really like it for portrait shots & people shooting. I think for $80 it's an amazing lens. I really like the 85mm f/1.2 & 28mm f/1.8.
Also, a lens that I eventually want to pick up that gives really unique pictures is a 45mm f/2.8 Tilt Shift lens, my buddy uses it extensively in his wedding photography (check out his page here: www.seanflanigan.net/blog)
Here's the info on the Tilt-Shift lens: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/r...ns-Review.aspx
