I took these photos using the basic 18-55 lens kit that came with my Canon Rebel (no tripod with Circ Polariz filter). Its a good starting point to learn the basics of photography. Once you have the basics mastered, you can looking into hand held meter, tripod, telephoto lens, wide angle, filters, rigs, etc. Later on you can experiment with HDR. The key is to use minimal post-processing. A lot of people are overdoing it with their saturation/contrast/sharpness. As a former PNW resident, I know skies up there aren't that blue at this time of the year

My watch, Citizen Campanola Grand Complication, #167 of 1,000:

Some toothpicks:

Sunset over Lake Washington:

AV-8B II Harrier aboard U.S.S. Bonhomme-Richard LHD6:

MH-53E Sea Stallion aboard U.S.S. Bonhomme-Richard LHD6:

Some small purple flowers, the only glint of color around after the California wildfires in November, 2007.

These were taken from my trip to Vietnam this past summer
Long Hai Beach, Southern Vietnam Coast

Royal Palace in Hue

This one is in Hoi An, an ancient town, in central Vietnam. This is not a very good picture - no tripod - but I think this is a nice one to see the night market
