Yea dude.. it sucks... oh well.. it lasted for a good year and some change. my neighbors here at work are a machine shop and a couple guys think they could fix it.. i'll know more later on during the week.

Alumnum shouldn't be difficult to weld if they know what they are doing. I'd probably get it machined flat (plenum mating surface) while you are at it. But try not to take off too much. These old plenums were sort of known for not being completely flat.

Yeah, I think that's why they needed 2 stacked gaskets. Retarded.
