I went there with the viper. It didn't snow, but hydroplaning and drifting the entire way up there made us go back. Waste of time

The next "Test & Tune" events are 3/29 @ 09:00 and then 4/24 @ 17:00.

http://www.pacificraceways.com/

As we get deeper into '09 they start having concurrent events with the TNT (e.g. Jr Drags, PDCP, etc.) which means larger crowds and longer wait times between runs.

Due to the GG meet coming up, I'm planning to head out there after work on Friday the 24th....it's a ways out but maybe we can get a few people together by then.

If you guys go on the 29th , the last 3 years I can remember being very wet days, I'd wait and go in April. I know, sucks!

the "early mid" season one's are usually pretty packed, but the summer ones, especially if its a wed. are usually pretty empty. there were a few times i went in 07 when it was empty enough for me to get in over 15 runs (23 was the most i ever got in one night i think)

The April Test 'n Tune is tomorrow (Friday) but the times have changed. The weather sounds as if it'll be decent so I'm going to call them for the revised info. Anyone interested in going? I can meet in Auburn around 2:30 and be at PR by 3.

racing is 9-5, if you're gonna get there at 3, you'll be lucky to get 2 runs in...

I'm not looking to get 15 or 23 passes at WOT; just want 3 - 5 consistent runs to establish a new baseline for the work I've had done since last Fall. I suppose additional passes would provide more data points and possibly even a few outliers.

I only made 3 passes in early Fall of '08 (prior to going FI) but my RT's were really consistent and the ET's were within hundreths of a second, which made me comfortable that I had established a NA baseline.

The temps last Fall were in the mid 60's so I'm hoping for a TNT before Summer as warmer temps and less humidity will certainly skew my ET's.....maybe not enough to matter though

Called Pacific Raceways and the original 17:00 start time scheduled for tomorrow was a typo. Night racing doesn't start until May 1st and then they'll run until 23:00 on several TNT events.....5/6, 5/8, 5/15, 5/20....etc.

15 or 23 huh, are you keeping track of my drag strip visits?

i still think you'll be lucky to get even 2 runs in if u arrive at 3, but best of luck to you

just an fyi, RT doesn't matter, the clock doesn't start going until you trip the 1 foot runout sensor. 60 ft is what counts.

what were your 60ft's when you went last year?

My 60' times were 2.269, 2.295, and 2.273. How do they compare to your times and what were you driving/mods?

i was bone stock, i started with 2.2 60 ft's and was able to get 2.0's consistantly after some practice. i managed one 1.9

i'm #4 on the stock 1/4 times in this thread:

2.2 is where most novice drag racers start at...work on getting the magical 2.0 on street tires, then jump to some slicks/DR's for some 1.6-1.8 60' times.

The times would be more dependant on driver skill in a MT Z, however, in an AT Z the times are more a function of HP/TQ since the driver is responsible for only RT and steering.

Am I over simplifying? Light turn green.....I put the pedal down and steer straight.
