You're right. I couldn't meet you in Bothell. Too far. But I was willing to work out shipping that would have cost us $5.

But if it was easier to sell it locally, good deal.

Tried to bring him work awhile back. Being a Nissan tech and all, even though he's a rookie, I figured his knowledge of the VQ and access to CONSULT, etc... might be useful for diagnosing some weird symptoms I had at the time. It might've been a sidejob or I might've just brought it into the dealership. Not sure which, but I never got that far.

Sent him multiple PM's with my phone # and a brief description of the issues, and asked him to call me many times. I understand he might be busy, so it took him several days (even a week) to respond by PM. Usually this was only because, after not hearing back, I'd send yet another PM to try and elicit a response. After a few weeks of trying, I was forced to give up. During this period of a few weeks, Aaron NEVER called me back and never offered to help.

He never refused to do the work, but just seemed so unmotivated and hesitant. Really odd, considering he talks about how broke he is, and posts multiple threads to solicit work from us, and ultimately our money. I'm not sure if it was because of his lack of experience, so that he was felt inadequate to perform diagnosis? Even then, never referred me to someone else, or had any suggestions. Seemed like he was only interested in easy jobs that pay well....the gravy.

Luckily I was able to get some help elsewhere, but I'm just extremely disappointed with how Aaron handled it. Even more disappointed since we've met several times at meets, so he knows me and my car. When you can't even get ahold of someone before they perform any work and before you pay them, it really doesn't speak well for what would happen after the face if you had some complications down the road.

I don't think Aaron meant MAJOR projects, although i am positive that he could get a lot of stuff done for half the prices of many shops. However, I think he meant 2-3 hour projects such as exhausts, intakes and so forth. I don't know what your project was, but it sounds like something colossal lol.
Anyways, you gotta understand that the dude works, and if he accepts to work on your car would be cheaper that a lot of shops as i mentioned, but in fact he will have to do the work with irregular hours. I have had people drop a car off for two days and he did the job for $300 with parts included in the price, whereas other shops quoted the job for 1000. So, what i am expounding is that someone needs to compromise, and many times this would be the person who needs work done, since he/she saves money. Not defending Aaron, but telling you how it is. He's done work on my car and has advised me numerous times.

None of those excuses really mean anything. He never bothered to call to get the full rundown of anything, to even assess what would or wouldn't be involved. Again, the car might've even even been brought through the dealership, not as a sidejob. That would've been an option to use their equipment, knowing that there's a trustworthy tech there with your best interests in mind. As it turns out, that kind of tech was not present.

Bottom line, it was just disappointing that he wasn't willing to take a couple min. over the course of 3 weeks of PM's to pick up the phone.

I am not getting your point? If this was the case you call nissan and schedule an appointment, and go see him in person at the dealership. I don't think you are comprehending the type of side job I am trying to delineate such as done in his garage, with his tools, and so on. As far as the Pm'ing goes, i have had weeks when i would not be able to log in, so next time get a phone #. The PM excuse is lame for either one of you! I hardly PM anymore.
