High School Reunions
Sweet fancy Moses, it's been 10 years already and I just got the invitation. I can't help but entertain petty thoughts, like how my car's going to be better than their cars, my girlfriend's ***** are bigger than their slag wife's *****, etc. Might even dust off the cowboy astronaut millionaire costume too...
Has anyone else done the high school reunion thing? Share!

10 year reunion = show off, try to prove you did better than everyone else.
20 year reunion = glad to really see old friends, who really cares what job you have or house/car you own.
30 year reunion = Glad to be alive & really interested to see how your old friends lives turned out & appreciate the people for being different.
So to sum it up, show off your 350Z but in reality who gives a crap, I dont & my bet is most at your reunion wont either. All it takes is 10 mins & a credit check any many people could own a 350Z/370Z. Own a car because you enjoy it, not because you want to impress others. In time you will find out the people that care about you can be counted on by using your 10 fingers.

I really doubt anyone that matters will be impressed by a used 6-year old car that books in the mid-teens. Many of us are in the same boat, so it's prob the same thing for quite a few of us around your age range. Mine is this year too, but I'm not going down to Cali just for that...heck, I wouldn't bother going even if it was local.
I was supposed to graduate in 97, then 98, then 99, i ended up graduating january 00.... Yeap. . .. I didnt make it to any yet.. lol, i did get an invitation to 3 of them so far' lol

Went to my 20yr 1 and it reminded me why I was glad to graduate. Looking at about 5 or 6 that I like and the rest of the nut huggin *** clowns yuck. Don't think I will go to another till like the 50yr 1
The whole car thing was just a poor attempt at dick waving humor, no delusions of grandeur here... unless they want to take it to the street. Then it's ON.
(btw, I'm down to $17K left on the loan, now how 'bout a high five?! lol)
I guess if anything else, I was hoping somebody would have a funny story or something. It's not like I have any grudges to settle or anything like that, and my high school drinking buddy is still my drinking buddy... he just has two kids now!
Didn't know everyone would latch on to the car thing. Nobody even caught the Family Guy reference!

As most of you know, I am Old, and my husband is Older Yet. I have never gone to one of my high school reunions because those people hated my guts when we were in school; why should I want to hang out with them now?
BUT: my husband showed up at one of his reunions about five years ago on my CBR929RR. Most of his classmates were staggering out of their Buicks, and he just rode up front on the bike and parked it on the sidewalk. I wish I'd been there to see the looks on their faces.
But other than that, reunions are probably best avoided. ESPECIALLY the 10th.

Mines is this year as well... but what a sad year to have a reunion. Almost everyone I've run into nowadays have been cut from their jobs or not doing too hot.
You add Facebook/Myspace in the mix nowadays, and Highschool Renunions don't seem like a big deal.

Planning on going either way, should be entertaining...

Unless you drive into the building and onto the dance floor in your Z, nobody except a few people are even going to know what you rolled over there in anyway, so people hoping to show off might be a little disappointed.
Don't brag about your job or your money or your stuff unless you're Jennifer Hudson or Eli Manning or something. (And then of course, you wouldn't even need to...). Do show up looking sharp though. Collared shirt, slacks or designer jeans, best shoes, some ice on the wrist or in the ears, whatever your definition is. Most of these people really haven't seen you in 10 years...you don't want them thinkin your some kind of schlubb either
