Well, lesson learned. This is the first accident I've ever been in so I'm not quite too sure what to do. Guess we all have to learn from our mistakes yeh?

either way it's a loss on my part.

So on my own insurance record, I have a claim that shows up, but also states that it was canceled, and no points were charged. So yeah...apparently it can be done.

I've got one on mine. A guy backed into my car. I got his insurance, turns out his policy had been canceled. After a month, I opened a claim on my insurance. Finally got the guy to send me a check, canceled my claim and yet it still shows up as an "unpaid claim/not at fault accident". Rates went up because of that.
