they are coming down in price. Have you driven a c5 z06 you can get one for around 20k now. If you look you can find a 05 c6 for mid twenties now. If you want to go for a ride I can take you for a ride to get an idea of what a c5 z06 feels like.

Haven't driven one, no. Sat in a C6 Z06 one at the auto show couple yrs ago, and also rode shotgun in a C5 Z06 on an autox run.

i test drove a brand new c6. it was the biggest disappointment i've ever experienced. it just felt sloppy to me. the engine was great, although it felt a bit lazy, but it still pulled really good. but the suspension just sucked. idk of the z51 is better (i hear it is), but even if it is, it needs to be a *huge* upgrade.

go the chevy of bellevue and tell them you wanna buy one, they'll let you test drive it...

btw, this is with a base model vette, not a z06

I did the same thing a few months ago, and feel the exact same way.

I drove an '07 convertible with the Z51 and an '08 convertible without from Friendly Chev in Puyallup. Brakes were noticeably better in the '07 but I couldn't feel a difference in the suspension....would probably need to load it up a little better than city streets.

Engine pulled OK but I was basically disappointed too. Their ~400hp rating must be at the crank with probably ~375 at the wheel. Nose felt really long compared to the Z even though the cars are of quite similar length.

I have a c5 z06 and they are much more of a race car feel you don't get the soft suspension feel of the c6. It feels much more raw and like a race car. Plus I think it pulls pretty good still looking to supercharger in the near future but I like to go stupid fast. It has a m12 gearbox that has more aggressive gearing then the m6 in the c6. Thats why some people have gotten into the low 12's high 11's stock.

on another note my car may only dyno at 360-370 but I have taken out a svt cobra with 440whp, an sti with 400whp and a 07 mustang gt with a wipple on 12psi dyno near 500whp closed corse of course. C5 z06 great bang for the buck plus I get 28mpg on the hwy. I totally agree on all the c6 comments though they do feel soft.

not sure what time yet turbo tech in tacoma is having a dyno day on the say day I am trying to find out if they are having any deals on tunning. they are great with ls motors. If they aren't doing anything for tunning I will be at drift office for a while I live like 2 miles away.
