ATTN: Donut!

I have bought/had work done at Speedware and what he says is the truth, just do yourself a favor and comparison shop if you like keeping your money. Its your car/money/trust/friend but so are we and would hate for you to get ripped off.

Exhaust is something that is so simple a 2 yr old child with a metric craftsman socket set can do himself. That being said, I wouldnt have a problem with most shops doing my exhaust , even though I put my own on

Careful the price changes at that place, write **** down. they are sneaky like that.

Ha ha, they told me that it would take 8 hours to do the basic install for my coilovers. I did it (correctly) in 4 hours with no lift. It would have cost me well over 900 dollars for what most shops charge 300-400 for depending on complexity.

idk which greddy exhaust ace32x has, but i really like the sound of it and most of their other exhaust systems. i like deep mellow sounds though. if you want something in the middle of street/sport there's always nismo. i agree with the others though, wait til a meet comes along and listen to other peoples cars.

Add Borla and FlowMaster to your MagnaFlow options. I say, run a cherry bomb to straight pipes, like 4 of them for that special effect.

Stay away from crappy exhausts (Vibrant), there are plenty of local exhausts for sale or even slightly used high quality exhausts in the for sale section. Come to a meet and check out what people have on their cars, it makes the decision much easier. An exhaust is important, you dont want a horrid sound everytime you drive your car. Good luck in your decision.

+1 on the Greddy Evo II; that is what I run and I love the sound; however the install isn't as trivial as others; you have to relocate the evaporator.

I believe most of us are running after market exhaust; come to a meet and check them all out. You can get the chance to listen to them as well.

I just like to say 3 letters DIY. I believe most everything you buy comes with instructions. Besides, just look underneath it's only a few bolts.

I just like to say DIY, cause it saves money and you learn about your car and you don't get ripped off from shops (minus the reputable ones).

vibrant is more of a distributer. i am actually surprised they did a system for the Z more than anything (happier though to hit this thread and see no one copied anything ). but, just cause they offer it does not mean they manufacture it. some of the grapefruit shooter mufflers they have are universal, but they list them as universal. the super quite 2.5" resonators i did with my 2.5" exhaust were from them, and they were the best quality i found after much research. full polished stainless with stainless packing that won't blow out over time. ofcourse, they do not manufacture though.
last i heard, alot of their bends come from the guys here i had building my exhausts. they list them as vibrant, but everything is outsourced. john is a good guy though and my dealings with them on a professional level, were just that.
not ranting on ya "ed" i have just dealt with vibrant before and have seen an over and above service with them in my cases. their universal stuff is great for builders!

$1099 is a bargain when you take into fact a manufacturer and distributor each make something off of it. stainless is not the cheapest material, and you end up with about 20% loss in bad bends due to stainless wanting to wrinkle instead of aluminized that bends like butter.
unfortuneately, everything is so outsourced now, the exhaust had to be built overseas and sold at a price where atleast 2 distributors make 10-20%, and still be underpriced.
the grade and mostly thickness of stainless is how they can get the price down. but, the thinner the stainless, the more bend loss due to wrinkle unless the bender is human operated and can stop it.
don't know who they outsourced, so i'm not putting my name on it tho.
