quick poll on exhaust
Never heard of Vibrant - and if you get magnaflow, get the part # 16784 setup, I haven't heard good things about the 2.5" setup they have for the Z.
magnaflow is more of a muscle car deal but man it sure had a nice tone on the Z.

thanks for all the input. I was going to go with a Magnaflow but the guy that's installing it in my car keeps saying Vibrant is awesome but I've never heard of it so I thought I would check with you guys which I'm glad I did.
who's installing it?
iguess the vibrant one doens't look to bad

y pipe design looks similar to the motordyne y pipe (which tony did alot of r&d on), but it doesn't have any flex couplings, so you may or may not have cracking issues.
which magna flow exhaust are you looking at, don't they make 2 versions?

I was going to get the 2.5" set up but Entaille is saying I shouldn't so...I dunno. I'm kind of dumb when it comes to my car so I depend on someone else to make my decisions. This company called Speedware is installing some stuff on my car. They told me I should get a plenum spacer too.

are you open to other exhausts or only those 2? what's your budget? given that the vibrant is 1100, imma asume its around that. for around that price you can get the motordyne vq system (scroll down):

tony (owner of MD) took about a year to engineer these systems, they are the best available for our car imo (and many others). also, if you look around on here or pm tony, you can prolly get a better price then what's listed on the website.

just a side note about the speedware comment, they wanted to charge my sister 3 hours of labor to install a cat back on an her sti, i forget what they charge an hour, but 3 hours is rediculous, it wouldn't take me anywhere near that long with a set of car ramps, let alone a lift. the absolute longest should be an hour for something like that. the shop she took it to (performance exhaust in pacific) only took about 45 mins...

Designed specifically for use on vehicles with aftermarket turbochargers, including but not limited to Greddy bolt-on kits, the new GReddy EVOTT is a hybrid version of GReddy’s popular EVO2 cat-back exhaust system. It was created specifically to enhance non-turbocharged vehicles that have been converted to turbocharged vehicles. Similar to the full stainless steel EVO2, the EVOTT is designed with larger diameter piping, then normally found on non-turbo charged applications. This will optimize performance in its boosted form, while still providing effective sound suppression when used with a turbo. Finishing off the high flow EVOTT is a heat-treated, inner curled GReddy Titanium Tip. Applications are available to enhance most GReddy Bolt-on and other aftermarket turbo kits.

donut, I heavily recomend you wait for a meet or two and check out some exhaust options in person. go for a ride in folks cars, hear it, buy one if you like it enough or take chances on another setup. you have to live with the tone every time you drive and you should make sure you like it before you buy it if possible!
you should take someone more informed with you before allowing a shop to just throw random suggestions of products to throw on *your* car, they will totally take advantage of someone ill informed. not that a plenum spacer is a bad idea (best bang for the buck mod for power, along with TPs/HFCs!), but if you aren't informed, how will you know which brands, which setups, what costs are fair etc?
I sold my magnaflow set up to a local (kinda, in Tacoma). I miss it a lot at times, but I needed the money and it was slightly louder then I'd prefer. I am sensitive to it though, and have to handle a lot of business related phone calls while I am on the move, and I hate to seem unprofessional because of how loud my car is :P stock Staying stock for a while.
