$216???? thats crazy..i have gotten three tickets, two parked and one as addon to a traffic ticket which i won. I think they were $38 for the parked ones and 55 for the moving one..buts thats king county. I would really contest it...you will have to show up to the court house and waste about a hour but just tell the judge that you bought the vihicle like that and you have fixed it now. You will probably have to still pay the fine but it should be way reduced, but it has to be your first one.. i know on my third ticket it said repeat offender! LOL STILL $216 thaTS NUTS. If you go to the exterior body classified (dealer) they have one that is retractable..pretty cool i think...

here's what you're gonna need to do:
contest infraction
zip-tie plate on
take pics to court
show judge pics and explain you bought the car in the previous condition and you were unaware of the law
you'll most likely be required to pay half of the fine, which sucks but its better than the full amount
go home and cut the zip-ties

or if you really want, get a z bracket

Dumb. I had one cop pull me over specifically for not having a front plate. He let me go because "if I had this car, i wouldn't put one on either, thats nice." Basically he wanted to look at my car.
The second time, I was in front of a buddies place waiting for him and didn't pull into his driveway, just pulled over on the street. Cop said the same thing, except, "so is this faster than a Porsche, I read the car and driver and it said it was." Again he said the front plate is required but this car is too nice.

So moral of the story, invest in some rims, coilvers, body kits....

I probably just jinxed myself.

It's easy, just tell her, and when she says no, say "DON'T TELL ME MY BUSINESS DEVIL WOMAN!" and then do what you want.

$216....wtf?

I got the same ticket in Tacoma, back when that no front plate petition was going around, but mine was only $126.

I contested the ticket, trimmed the front plate to minimize obstruction of my intercooler, zip-tied the plate to the grill, and went to court. Judge asked if the plate was there and then dismissed the case.
