The latest AutoWeek is featuring the new 370 Roadster

From the mag I was able to see that the roll hoops are now rectangles and they're ginormous. The rear fender lines appear to have changed as well. I still like the front end "scoop" on the 370's but everything else = fail. I really do not appreciate the direction Nissan is taking the Z.

The profile pic reminded me of the BMW Z4

I haven't visited a dealer to see it yet but has anyone here seen it up close and what were your impressions?

 

I love it... looks better than the coupe IMO this looks way better than the 350 vert (no offense scott). the top looks great on the side profile... I really like that maroon/black interior A L O T!

 

I actualy.... LOVE IT! Agreed with Tito, i does look better then the 350z Roadster. (sorry scott, but keep in mind your roadster is still one of my favs. )

i hate the front bumper of the new Zs. the roadster is terrible looking. the rear quarters are way too high and bulky. i like the previous one way better (you're welcome scott ). i do however like the nismo A LOT more than the previous one.

I'm a big fan of both of them. I've considered moving to the 370, but I'm just not sold enough to make the switch. The one thing that I dislike most about the 370 vs 350 is where they decided to put the antenna. Other than, it's just got all of the same things that I don't like about the 370 in general.

Overall, I like them both, and I've already got one, so I'll just keep what I've got.

well that's something ignorant! You would not want to own a superior car cause you think it's uglier than the 350z?!

 

 

I stopped at Korum Nissan today but they haven't received the Roadster yet; they said it's due in 3 weeks.

They did have a buttload of 370 coupes just taking up space on the lot.

 

I think it looks better than the 350 vert, the dimentions are a little less weird with the top up. Maybe if they added the Nismo front and rear bumpers it would look much better.

 

Yeah, definitely. That's the only real complaint that I have aesthetically with my car; with the top up, not so hot.

 

I don't like it much. I like the color, and the wheels, but overall......not so much.

The nismo is the sexiest of the 370'z....
But I do prefer the visual lines of the 350 over the 370....even if it isnt as mechanically superior.

 

what about it? assuming you're talking about how abrupt the top ends at the trunk, i really like the look of it specifically because it has that awkward look to it. to me, it really says "i'm a roadster, not a coupe" with the top up.

 

I agree with your latter statement...the 350z roadster is a hot car! Not the 370z...I remember the first time seeing the roadster in the int'l autoshow and then on 405 near my house in '04'....god it was sexy. It was a red one and this was in summer time and top down of course. The 370z roadster looks even weirder than the coupe to me.

I agree on the nismo 370z...but I still don't think the 370z is a good switch. I had a chance to consider the 370z as a move from my Evo...after driving it, I couldn't justify it. It felt slower than my Evo and IMHO it doesn't look as good as a 350z! You're right, the 350z has a lot smoother and sexier body lines. Can't stand the lines of the 370z...and I've given it about 5 months to grow on it...still can't.

 

You make a good point there, Slim. The car does really, really well at being exactly what it is; a roadster.

imo the rear does go up a little too high... in comparison with the level of the hood... other then that i think i like it

 

I really wish they would make a T-Top Z again.

 

+1. Although, it may look better in person. Not a fan of the rear quarter panels on the 370 roadster.
