Default Need an opinion on what dual intake setup to get for 2007 350z with HR motor

As the title says I wanna get intakes for my 2007 350z HR motor. Up in the air between these. The only aftermarket part on my car right now is my Nismo Cat Back Exhaust system.

Fujita Dual Intake System

Takeda Dual Intake System

Injen Dual Cold Air Intake System

Nismo Dual Intake System

You will not "notice" a power difference with filters or aftermarket intakes.(Unless you have an enhanced butt-dyno like some members who can detect 5hp differences)

1)Aftermarket intakes usually reduce low-end torque and increase mid-high hp/torque.

2)They sound better and look cool

That being said, I'd go with Injens if I had to choose

injen is the only real one with proven results. drop ins or injen for sure.

What's the better choice in your opinion then Entalie? Just do drop ins or spend the money on the CAI?

I would personally spend the extra money on the injen. I love the sound of a cold air setup. the gains aren't massive by any means and you probably won't feel the difference on the butt dyno, but you can expect around 10whp.

with that in mind, isn't it like 500$ new? up to you to decide if it's worth it, the stock airboxes for the 06s and the 07-08HR setups are pretty nicely made.

hi flow filters don't flow any better than stock, its more or less as waste of money. just buy new oem filters ever 10k or so, only 30 bucks for both from the dealer.

OP,
if you want intakes (like you're asking about), get injen, the only ones proven to make power on the hr...

and another thing, these type questions should go in the HR forum, no the NW. i see a bunch of people here giving you opinions based on how they know things respond on a DE engine cause thats what they have. the HR and DE respond differently to mods. post yoou questions in the right section to get the correct answers

nothing wrong with asking the locals, he got accurate responses since this is one of the most commonly asked questions and is common knowledge. I'd almost always rather ask locals first since you are less likely to encounter online trolls and ********* that way. I think I am the only one with a DE that chimed in and I didn't really throw him any terrible info.

https://my350z.com/forum/vq35hr/4444...en-intake.html

random search result on the hr forum, with pretty much everyone saying injen then a random discussion about other CAIs.

https://my350z.com/forum/vq35hr/4133...ir-intake.html

some guy screaming bloody murder about the 4hp dyno gains on his k&n filters. (hey you actually posted an in depth reason as to why the drop ins are a waste of money there on page 2).

it's been tested too many times to count and when it boils down to a few hp's different, there's no real way to verify if there was an actual gain. as you said, it was probably going from a dirty filter to a new filter that was the difference, and Sharif testing a new filter vs no filter at the same results is good enough for me to believe that drop ins are a waste of money.

^thats kinda the point, if he posted in the hr forum, everybody would have told him to search. if he would have searched, he would have found what you found, along with another 700 or so threads titled "what intake should i get for my hr"

some people need someone to be a dick to them to teach them to use the search function...

great, now i'm the dick...

Just wait for stillen gen3! I think this would be your best bet! The diameter of the pipes is slightly larger than injen's! Moreover, you can begin with genII airboxes(if you don't have $500 for injen) and upgrade to genIII. Or just leave the stock boxes

LIKE ENTAILLE said I posted locally to avoid dick head remarks but that obviously didnt work guess I gotta remember I am in the northwest.. Also I am not some nooby idiot with cars.. I just know different brands of intakes react different with different brands of car.. because on my 2008 Honda Civic Si I went with AEM.. and then came to find out that Fujita and Injen out perform AEM by far but AEM was the only one CARB legal but would only matter in a state like California.. thank you for everyones responses in the northwest that were not ******* remarks

I just called Stillen.. There Generation 3 dual intake system just put out 20hp without tuning on a 2008 350z they just dynoed.. They told me this intake will be released in 2-4 weeks.. They are mass producing them right now.. If you call Stillen right now they will presale the kit to you for $549.. So I will be waiting to see if the results are really this good or if they are blowing smoke up a$$... haha
