Default Stupid question?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T3T4-...ht_3883wt_1167

This thing here, sounds too good to be true... So, my stupid question is... Is this one of those crazy wastes of money, or could this possibly work out? I know I'd need a header/down pipe--- but... hell I dunno... what are you guys' takes?

650 dollar turbo kit? I think this is a no-brainer. My blow off valves cost more than this entire turbo kit.

edit, just noticed free shipping too lulz

Yeah, but, it might be one of those start up companies... I'm just throwing it out there. I did find a 2600 used vortech supercharger... but... the wife said no (for now).

They have been selling those kits on ebay for many many years, I don't think so. Just buy a decent kit when your wife isn't looking

it'd be a lesser waste of money if you bought 650 bucks worth of booze and gave it to a homeless guy...

your typical ebay turbo:

what you can do is buy the kit sell the shitty turbo and buy a nice BB garret. can save a bunch of money right off the bat and then slowly build better quality parts on it while selling off the lower quality stuff to a honda kid. you can probably save a few grand by avoiding the brand names and still end up with a pretty decent system that can push 9lbs. you'd have to do a lot of your own fab work and stuff but if you're into that sort of thing i say go for it. if you're looking to push like 50 lbs on a sleeved block and forged internals and such don't do it but i think the knock of piping and fittings and all that can handle the 9 lbs

the only thing usable from that kit is the piping and couplers for very mild applications, and can be had for alot less than 650...

Why does everything look plastic? From the turbo to even the intercooler? Oh wait it probably is made from plastic.

run away from that kit. remember this......
FI (done right) + 350z = you better be sitting down when you get the bill.

FI + 350z = lots of fun

This is a good deal? I'm just trying to penny pinch where I can... I want a fun car to drive, but I don't want to spend five bagillion dollars.

i work at a turbo company and rebuilt turbos for everything from cars to diesel engines to natural gas pump engines. i know cost prices on turbos appropriate for our cars are damn near the price of that kit, and that's wholesale not retail. buy a used kit from someone on here or g35driver.com and save yourself some money.

Eh, If you're going S/C route go with a Roots setup. In the long run, much easier to maintain and more reliable, and it just sounds better then a centrifugal setup. Stillen offers a Roots setup S/C kit for our cars. Roots > Centrifugal IMHO.

Yeah, that'd be pretty legit. 70 extra hp would be super!

Sorry Killabeez, but the stillen supercharger is fail. The blower is to small for our engines and you get minimal performance out of it, all low end and no top end. The vortech is a better match. (but if stillen used a bigger roots unit then it would be better then a centrifugal blower)

and Deuset 70 extra hp sound like a blast, a probably is at first, but boost is like crack......you always want more.
