no more ffr gtm, got this instead!!
sick car! Why did you decide against the GTM? Given your purchase of the manta, I would imagine that you were just as excited about the build as you were with the final product.

my work has been so busy lately i started to feel the reality of buying a corvette donor, striping it completely, selling the parts i don't need on ebay (then all the time to ship stuff) and building the gtm. one thing would have suffered, either the car or my work. thats one reason.
the other, i saw the viper, and had to have it, and it is done ready to drive now!! i will clean it up abit and see wat it will pull in the springtime. i am guessing a decent amount more. the gtm is not out of the picture, just for the moment.

So what made you steer away from the GTM? Personally I was SOOOO close to getting one and would of used my C6 as the donor (but couldn't justify tearing apart a brand new vette). Today.... i regret it and WISH i had gone with the GTM. But that viper is gorgeous
congrats!

No real photos of it - just dealer stock photos of a car like it? I've heard they are a beast to drive in the handeling department - and not very practical - compared to a Z06. Too bad we will miss the write up of a GTM supercar build.
Old school Vipers are the ****. I have a 2000 year model RT/10 and it's a lot of fun to drive. Just be careful. Last summer I ripped the back end loose due to too much throttle coming outta a right turn. Vipers have so much torque down low so be careful.

for sure! kind of silly how fast it will torture a set of 335 rear tires from a roll on!

i thought the vision would be bad. surprisingly though, it is pretty good and not at all a hinderance while driving.
the seats are comfortable and shifter position and throw makes for lightning fast shifts. only thing is the clutch pedal engagment is lower than the rest of the pedals. in order to push the clutch all the way in i am kind of crammed up against the brake and throttle pedals. i have heard there is a fix for it though.
btw if anyone is looking for one, at my dealer we have one for sale and will make a deal for the right person.
