Default Yes, its another TPMS question...

So, I've read through the various posts on the forums about my problem, haven't seen anything as of yet... so I'll ask you guys, I put my rims on my car about 1k miles ago- I didn't have the TPMS sensors rebuilt or anything like that... not even sure if the current tires have them or not... anyway, this wouldn't be an issue- but while driving back from wasubers Sunday, I got the warning beep, my PSI light came on, and my flat tire indicator light also is steady on... So I filled up my tires with about 36+ PSI (light remained on)... my question is more of a series of questions based on the answer from the first...

1) Do my tires have the TPMS?

a) If so, I obviously should get them configured for my car

b) Is it possible that my car is just ECU retarded and doesn't quite know what the hell is going on?

c) why the hell did my car wait till now to screw around?

d) more to follow...

1.no, tires do not have them. They attached to the wheel. You have Sportmaxx now

a. if they are still somehow on your car? yes you would need to re-calibrate them, .5 hours labor at Nissan.

when i had my wheels on i didn't have the tpms sensors in. the only time i ever had the light come on was when i'd drive long distances at once, like from tacoma to portland. what i did to fix it: turn the car off for like 10 seconds while coasting on the freeway and turn it back on. problem solved for me.

where did you fill you tire up to 36psi?

i recently filled mine up at a gas station to 40psi..

but my tpms sensors where telling me i only got 34psi in my tires.

went out and bought a digital pressure gauge.. and behold.. my tires did have 34psi.

sometimes the gas station gauges are WACK

Well the bottom line is my car doesn't have the TPMS sensors... but for some strange reason, its just now telling me that I have a PSI issue. Weird if you ask me.

So I have to have them rebuilt is what you're saying? I did get these rims used off a guy on the forums...

Well, I did have a set of TPMS but I gave them to Scott. You can go to Tire Rack, Discount Tire, or Schwabbies and they can put aftermarket ones in for you.

if your old sensors/wheels are in your garage near your car they will take an initial reading on cold start... they dont have to be on the car for the car to read them... if they are within a certain distance of your car which i would guess less that 12ish feet... your car will read as if it has them on....

My car did this for a while.... why it takes sooo long for the car to realize that they arent there is beyond me.... assuming your car is older like mine
