Default anyone have some springs they want to unload?

I'm looking into getting some stiffer springs with a very subtle drop, I'm talking around 3/4" to an inch, max. this is more for the handling then the looks, and I need to keep my car high enough since it's my DD as well.

I figure a lot of you have upgraded to coilovers and might have something sitting around. I don't really know enough about suspension components to know exactly what rates I should be looking for. I need them to get along with my stock struts for a while, it's alright if they need to be replaced down the road.. but I need some mileage out of them first

looks like hotchkis, tein, cobb all make springs that are ideal for my setup. any tips (outside of 'you should just get a good set of coil overs')? : P

hmm. I am guessing you needed a camber kit with those? did they slaughter your shocks?

might be a little too aggressive in the rear, and the timing might be off. I am trying to get this done prior to the maryhill drive on the 18th!

Remember... 0.8 inches is the max you can drop before needing a camber kit. ( IIRC )

and a drop of 8/10th's of an inch....what's the point?
My car sits on the GF210's and I made it thru your speedbumps just fine.

I'm also thinking of doing the spring mount mod as well to bring the rear a little lower.

every car is different in that regard actually.. the 'rule of thumb' though is less then an inch and you are fine, more then an inch and you are looking at a camber kit. not 100% reliable. like I said, I really want a stiffer spring setup, the drop isn't as important, I just want it minimal enough so I don't need to invest in a camber kit or new struts.

my speed bumps are not the only worry, I go on some ramps at work and all over town.. bummer. finding new routes as I can but work is unavoidable.

yeah, every car is different man. I am just going on the safe side since the drop isn't important to me.

Dont waste your money, just save up for a set of coils. You will retain the ride and get better hadling with minimal body roll. Plus, you wont need a camber kit.

I have to agree. That doesn't make any sense.
Any drop at all will change the camber. Any drop less than 0.8" ( on the Z'z) can have the camber/toe corrected. Any lower and you will need a camber kit to get back to stock specs.

I can understand if you used coilovers and kept stock ride height, it wouldn't change the camber.

I'm lowered on Tanabe NF210's and I can go over speed bumps fine. Ride quality is pretty close to stock.
Before I bent my rear camber arm, my camber wasn't THAT bad... IIRC after an alignment at Stage Performance, my front camber was -1.3 and rear was -1.73(ish) I don't remember what my toe is currently set at, but I do know it is in the green. The stock Camber/Toe is slightly adjustable to an extent.

You won't even need a set of spring compressors to install.
I have all tools, no dry spot. Shop full of REAL toys, no dry covered area.
