Yeah, every city in this state has its own bunghole neighborhood. All I can say is that after moving to Seattle and leaving the I-405 to I-90 commute behind, my life is better in every way, shape and form. The $$ I've saved on gasoline and the time I've gained to actually have quality of life that doesn't involve listening to 99.9 FM on a freeway in stop and go traffic have more than made up for any extra costs incurred with city living. Therefore, my number one suggestion to anyone planning to move to this area is buy a house close to work. Life's too short to deal with the commute (and it's only going to get worse).

Ultimately, of course, I want to move to the Outback and start a Kangaroo farm, but that's at least 10 years out.

+100000 on short commute.

I'm 6 minutes from my front door to my office. Can't get much better than that!

We have a drag strip down In the Kent area, probably about a 25-30 min drive from Bellevue area. They have a track down there too, along with open drift events at PGP Go-Kart track, or we hold open drift events at Evergreen Speedway over in Monroe.

Nightlife... Is alright I guess. If you want to spend some money you have Bellevue, but the night life in down town Seattle is way better. Like over by Bell Town.

Washington is a beautiful place to live IMO. Sure it might rain a little more then other places, but honestly I'm used to it. Not to mention the summer is the best here. Not humid or ridiculously hot. I love the summer in Seattle it's perfect. Especially floating the river in Fall City or Monroe! It's seriously not a bad place to live at all.

Realize that it will seem like most of the drivers in Seattle forget how to drive when the weather changes. It's not unusual for traffic to be 5 MPH under when it rains for the first time in a few days -- or when the weather is nice after a few days of rain.

That being said, I-90 is the dividing line between "Microsoft-land" and "Boeing-land" -- and the prices reflect that. I live south of I-90 because the same house on the same size lot was $100,000 cheaper.

Must be nice to live close to work and the drive is just as quick.
I live in Silverdale and my commute to Suquamish is crazy stupid.
What should only be a 15 minute trip is 25-30.
Fools in Poulsbo go 5 under. Don't get me started on the jack asses going 15 under on the way to Bainbridge. Ughhh.

It was nice when I was there last year... I usually hang out in the Bingen/White Salmon area for a couple weeks at a time.

For me I will never live in Seattle or Bellevue because I'm a country boy that needs his space and a big back yard.

Bellevue is one of the jewels of seattle. Rich, modern, sophisticated, helps to be gay too. lol. Its gorgeous there too bro,. Lots of hot cars, great condos, expensive, lots of bars, lots of women. There's many bars in Bellevue area so you don't have to drive to seattle to go out, but if you do, seattle/Alki area has amazing hang out spots too. Mainly seattle got enough for anything you're looking for. Um yes if you're from AZ, this will be a HUGE change for you. Rains, a lot.

Seattle residents who lives there their whole lives don't realize how much it really rains haha. Also unlike phoenix, it'll help to have a beater car, parking isn't as nice/available and lowered car friendly. (if your Z is dropped). There's lots of events though, and the Z community is pretty friendly and active.

I'm myself live on eastern WA, but go there pretty often, Seattle is great place during winter or summer, always something to do.

OOOH forgot to mention- HORRIBLE ****ING DRIVERS, all the employees that microsoft/boeing emploes from china and india and **** that can't drive to save their mother, they all commute around bellevue, seattle, i mean THEY'RE ALL ****ING OVER,. Every time I go there I almost get run over by one of them. So yeah, when it sprinkles rain, people are dam stupid. Basically, drivers there are 90% morons haha, it'll be a big change from denver population.

Disclaimer: No offense at the dudes from asian communities, only to your mom/pops that can't drive worth **** and those weird uncles and crap.

BTW, Eastern WA is a nice place to visit if youre into fishing or hunting or nature in general. Or if you play basketball, there is a annual event held in Spokane called HoopFest, basically the entire city shuts down and you play streetball for 1-2 days. Pretty fun.

I'm actually kind of excited about it after looking into it more. Now it's all going to be based on the job. Hopefully it works out.
