Default home/townhome etc rental suggestions

hey dudes - going to be moving in the Summer time and I'm hoping someone will have some quality suggestions based on experience. in the past we've picked some bad places to move into. they look great, then we move in and the walls are paper thin, or we discover a UPS hub two blocks away with lots of road noise next to our unit etc. whoopsy. we could swing purchasing a place but we'd rather save up for 2-3 years then take a stab at buying.

what we're looking for

-capping rent around 1300/mo
-close to i5
-everett to shoreline
-somewhat modern in style/appliances
-quiet area
-no parking issues, garage is a huge plus.

if anyone has any feedback for certain complexes to check out, I'd appreciate it. seems like just browsing CL and rental sites is just a huge time sink, and you just can't get a good feel for a place without some experienced based reviews.
