Default Possible move to Seattle

I recently visited Seattle and interviewed for a job up there. If they make an offer I may only have a short time to decide so looking into it now. I have to say I loved the city. I stayed in the downtown Hotel district and walked around the city for a little. It was amazingly clean and had a nice look and feel to it. I compared cost of living from Fort Lauderdale to Seattle and it was about 24% more expensive. How much cheaper is it to live outside Seattle? I was there Thursday and Friday and it was slightly cold and rainy. The rain wasn't too bad, but whats the overall weather like? People I talked to that live there say its not bad, but others that I know that have been there say its always rainy.
Also what laws do you have on modified cars? I have a Greddy TT and just curious if there are any tips or concerns that I should know about. Also about VQ shops, are there any good ones in the area of within a drivable distance? All comments are welcome.

Weather is the major downfall in my opinion. I for one can't wait to move but I do like Seattle as a whole. It has a lot to offer.

Change of pace, Amazon. Still need to see if they give me and offer and that the price is right but seems like a great opportunity. Defense contracting is in a lull right now and being a remote site means we have to fight for work.
Joel, you spent some time in Washington, what do you think about a move from S. Florida to there?

Amazon, huh? Be prepared to put in the hours!!!

I moved from NorCal to Seattle about 3 years ago. The weather is grey for most of the year. However, when we have a good summer, it all makes up for it. When people say its 'always' raining, take it with a grain of salt. 90% of the time it's raining, it is a misty/drizzly kinda rain, not downpours.

As far as living expense, yes, it can be cheaper to live outside the city. Really it depends on which area you live in outside Seattle. Heading North, it gets quite a bit less expensive, but if you want to live in Bellevue or Kirkland, you'll be right back up there in price.

I was there to get a quote but I will probably do it all in 2 or 3 weeks when I have time.

I can only speak of the people in the south Washington area... It's nice overall. I've never been that far North so I can't really say much about Seattle.
