FYI - Tire Feathering handled by Campbell Nelson Nissan
Just an FYI for those with feathering issues and my experience with Campbell Nelson Nissan. I know there are many posts about this issue, but I just wanted to post the experience with a local dealership.
Well, had my car there a few weeks ago to have the tire feathering issue taken care of (among other things, rear view mirror rattle, driver window not dropping an inch). They ordered new tires without any issue.
Today I brought her in to have the front tires swapped out and have them take another look at the rear view mirror buzzing/rattle (never fixed it the first time).
Good news: They went ahead and ordered a new mirror.
And the bad... (alright, who sees this coming...
) wheels scrapped up. Not bad, but bad enough. They said they took the wheels/tires off and had taken them to a local tire shop to have the tires RnR'ed. They called the tire shop while I was there and of course the tire shop wanted to see the wheels. The service guy offered to either take the wheels to the shop themselves or I could. I decided to leave my baby there so that there was no question about when the damage was done. I legally haven't taken back possession of my car, so no matter what, this falls back on the dealer to fix.
Well, will probably/hopefully hear back from the dealer sometime tomorrow after the tire shop has examined their work...

Where is Cambell Nelson Nissan?
I just took my car into Downtown Seattle Nissan and they refused to even do the TSB because my car was over 12months old...even though it only had 11.5k miles. Makes me a little nervous...my tires are getting pretty bad.

lynnwood off of 99 (just north of Northgate mall area). I bought my car from there, so they may be a bit more apt to do this for me. I bought my car on Feb 21, 2003, but brought her in March 4th. Don't know if they realized I was just over 12 months.
Just as an update, the tire shop polished the wheels and have agreed to refinish them. I'm picking up my baby tomorrow morning and will have them refinished when the new mirror comes in.

Z_Coaster, thanks for the info...they just reprogramed my computer because the "service engine soon" light kept coing on. My car was purchased in Fife 9/02...TSB repair of said light was N/C... my car has 8300 miles on it. I need to call to make an appt for the tire feathering issue...it is getting so loud. It feels kind of like bad brakes, it is the worst at low speed braking. I have a really obnoxious rattle coming from somewhere in the passenger dash...it is really loud when I first get in the car and go. I will have to check to see if it is the rear-view mirror. They have been wonderful everytime I have gone there and my car is returned to me unscathed. Marcy
Auburn did my tire TSB stuff.
I've got about 3.5k on my new tires with no sign of any funky wear yet (I've been checking). I first was able to really hear it at the 4.5k mark, so in another 1500 miles or so I'll know for sure. However, what Auburn did this last time was max the toe-in. It's a little more squirrley on the freeway now, but tires are happier.

FYI - In case you didn't see this thread, it's definetly worth the effort to send your info if applicable. Don't know if this will go anywhere, but one can hope...
