That's good to know, thank you. I am currently seven miles from my office which is nice. Will be looking to rent a home, and hopefully for no more than i am paying here for the home i rent, which is $1500 a month. Is that possible?

Within 7 miles of work .......................... Wow You'll be the envy of the office. Should be no problem finding something for around $1,500 a month in way of a house rental. A two bedroom in that area is renting from anywhay between $800 and $1200 a month depending on the community and ammenities.

Cool. Thank you. I will be on the hunt for a 3 bedroom house with attached garage if i get the job. So it sounds like it wouldn't be anymore for rent.

Hey now, I have to speak up for Kent Basically, if you work in Renton, the trade-off goes like this : Starting North in Bellevue, go South to Renton / Kent / Auburn. Basically the farther North you are the "nicer" the neighborhood, the more expensive and the more congestion you have. The farther South you go the longer commute you have, the neighborhoods get more spotty, and the houses are more affordable. That said, you can get a lot more house for the money in Kent than you can in Renton or Bellevue. If you don't mind driving an extra 20 minutes in your Z (which most of us wouldn't mind) you can get a new 4 bedroom, 2,200 square foot house for about $255,000 instead of the $400,000. which it might cost in Bellevue or even Renton. also, most people talk about highway 167 like it's terrible, but it's really better than I-5, especially if you can use the HOV lanes.

I'm just saying, it's all a trade-off.

Check out New Castle. Very close to the 405, which will take you to Renton in no time....plus you're close to the city and east side. More things going on."

Wow $255,000 for 2200 square feet. Since i live in the land of overpriced houses that sounds soooo cheap!

psssst...check out newcastle.

I just bought a house up there...you should be able to find a nice place to rent with within that range easily. Very nice neighborhoods, safe, quiet. I love being able to get to the airport in 15mins, my office in bellevue in 15mins or downtown in 10. (depending on traffic, which isn't too bad if you're going 405 South in the morning and 405 north at night, you'll basically be going the opposite direction of everyone else).

Go to the seattletimes.com and watch the traffic reports in the morning, give you an idea...you can even look at the cameras and see which area's are problems.
